I just met an art hero of mine, Mamoru Yamamoto, while attending Unknown Asia in Osaka. He's an amazingly cool guy with a brilliant sense of style. And I did, indeed, leave with one of his amazingly illustrated giclee prints!
I was lucky enough to find this brilliant little café, Tas Yard, in the middle of Tokyo because of the amazing Kinfolk Magazine and their City Guide. Shinichiro Nakahara runs this brilliant little eatery and the space is a designer's dream indeed. A true gem!
Mamoru Yamamoto is such a brilliant illustrator! He recently sent me the greatest little package of his awesomely quirky and beautifully textured work. I was thrilled, well, beyond thrilled! I hope I get the chance to meet him while living here.
